October Gallery Education
We emphasise the importance of cultural plurality and all workshops focus on high quality artistic processes and outcomes. We also seek to support schools in developing cross-curricular learning and uses creative art and craft activities to build children’s confidence in the visual arts as well as in literacy, environmental understanding, mathematics and the sciences.
We would like to thank our supporters, John Lyon's Charity and St. Andrew Holborn, for their continued support of October Gallery Education.
Schools Programme
Schools Programme

We deliver an extensive programme which involves workshops for all school age groups in the gallery, outreach projects in schools around London and various events, fairs and careers days which are set up to promote the gallery’s collection as well as inspiring children all over London to take up an interest in art as well as think about future careers in the art world.
Projects & Events

We run projects with schools, community groups, teacher training courses and events at the gallery throughout the year, so please do get in touch if you have an idea about working on a project together - we are always open to suggestions!

The Family Programme at October Gallery has run successful family art sessions that use international art, multi-sensory activities and storytelling.
Our FREE sessions run from 10am-11.30am on the first Saturday of the month and are suitable for Under 7s and older siblings
We also run big events with other arts organisations during the year so keep an eye on dates on our homepage.
Training & Volunteering

October Gallery Education department has a volunteer career development programme. We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated and flexible candidates who have some experience of working in education and have a passion for contemporary art.
Volunteering opportunities range from assisting workshop leaders and artists with school classes, under 6’s sessions to helping out with our resources and youth programme. We need people to help out on an ‘ad hoc’ basis and once you have joined our team we will send you details of the dates you will be required.
This opportunity is perfect for students wishing to gain more experience and those thinking about pursuing a career in artist facilitation and education. Most of our workshops and projects take place on weekday mornings although we do have some family events and activities which happen on Saturdays.
As a volunteer you will have the chance to see behind the scenes of a professional contemporary art gallery and gain practical hands-on experience of gallery education in action.
If you are interested in volunteering or would like some further information please email Georgie on georgie@octobergallery.co.uk
