2026 Beacon School Showcase

Monday, 16th March -- Tuesday, 17th March 2026

Go Back and Pick was a showcase celebrating the amazing work produced by the October Gallery Beacon Schools this past year.

The title and theme, 'Go Back and Pick', stems from the meaning of the Sankofa Bird. This West African Adinkra symbol represents the idea of looking back to choose what we can learn from history and take into the future.

Working together, this showcase reflected the students and teachers’ favourite moments, memories, exhibitions and experiences with the October Gallery. The students' diverse artistic responses, uniquely capture the heart of the Beacon School Programme--to foster children and young people's engagement with the visual art and global cultures as makers and critics.

Here, at the October Gallery we try to run all our projects and events with little, or no financial cost for our community.
