2027 OG Education Exhibtion
Who Wears the Future?
Wednesday, 20th January – Saturday, 30th January 2027
Who Wears the Future?, presented by October Gallery Education, is a vibrant education exhibition co-created with October Gallery’s learning community.
Inspired by African and diasporic traditions of masquerade, textiles, tattoo, adornment and contemporary artistic practices, the exhibition celebrates the body as a living canvas reflective of memories, identity and transformation. The exhibition asks us to think about what we wear, what we carry, what other people can see about us and what remains unseen.
Each work offers a different perspective on how we express ourselves, connect with our heritage and imagine possibilities for the future as something we create together — through our relationships, communities, stories and shared creativity.
Featured Artworks and Collaborations:
The exhibition brings together young people from schools, the October Gallery Youth Programme and community partnerships, alongside artists, teachers and educators. Through collaborative making and creative experimentation, participants explore how history, tradition and cultural knowledge are inherited, transformed and reimagined across generations.

This exhibition and the work of the October Gallery Education Department are kindly supported by Arts Council England, John Lyon’s Charity, Camden Council and St Andrew Holborn Charities.
