Monday 23rd February - Friday 27th March

Inspired by El Anatsui’s hand made cloth like golden sculptures, workshops will focus on science and the environment. We will explore the kinetic and modular nature of Anatsui’s work through recycled materials; which also comments on the ideas of consumption and Nigerian and Ghanaian landscapes that Anatsui’s works often represent.

Using a variety of techniques, including embossing, gold leafing and painting we will create individual and collective multi- sensory metallic works and installations.

Here, at the October Gallery we try to run all our projects and events with little, or no financial cost for our community.

Sadly, this means that we can not offer refunds because the fee is going towards keeping our programme exciting and accessible for ALL art lovers and allows us to keep working as a charity.
